South West Counselling Service

Our Fees

We are a not for profit. Fees are kept low, because cost should not stand in the way of support

Here at South West Counselling fees are kept to a minimum to ensure services are affordable.

State government funding partially subsidises some counselling and group sessions, however, fees are charged to help contribute to the sustainability of the organisation.

Fees vary depending on the service and how your counselling is funded. Please call or email for any fee enquiries — our team will tell you what your appointment will cost before you come in.

Ways your counselling can be paid for

We work with several fee types. Which one applies depends on your circumstances, and our intake team will confirm it with you.

Concession

A reduced fee for eligible clients.

Full fee

The standard fee for counselling sessions.

Mental Health Care Plan

Psychology appointments are available under a Mental Health Care Plan. Medicare covers a portion and there is a gap fee.

Employee Assistance Program

Counselling, workshops and critical incident response provided through an employer’s EAP.

NDIS

Counselling funded through an NDIS plan. Support coordinators and plan managers can refer on a participant’s behalf.

Paid on the day

It is a requirement of the Service that you pay any fees due, on the day of the service.

Financial hardship

If you are experiencing financial hardship, please discuss this with our intake and administration team, and we will support you as best we can.

Cancellations

Please give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Appointments cancelled or missed inside that window may incur a cancellation fee.

Please call or email for any fee enquiries

Our intake and administration team can confirm the fee for your appointment, explain what is subsidised, and talk through options if paying is difficult.
